The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced huge challenges to the public transport industry. 

Worldwide regulatory protocols for public transport converge on an essential point: to ensure a “safe capacity” maximum-passenger load in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus and to guarantee the maximum level of protection of passengers and staff, especially during peak hours (mainly related to school schedule).  This unprecedented global emergency revealed the need to speed development of a smart, sustainable, user-centric transport ecosystem. 

The collaboration with ATAP, the Transport Company operating in the Province of Pordenone, is placed in this framework, and led to the launch of the innovative App Salisco (available for iOS and Android) and to the management platform based on MOVENS cutting-edge technology. The advanced platform will be able to ensure safe and on-time trips by monitoring the changing travelers’ load restrictions, controlling the flow, and staggering ridership.

Thanks to MOVENS technology, ATAP will be able to significantly improve the levels of safety and wellbeing of citizens, in details:

• Knowing in advance, by the app “Salisco”, the travelers’ reservations to avoid peak times
• Calculating the number of extra means of transport to be added in specific time slots and in specific routes especially during peak hours

MOVENS allows trip planning and management of each typology of vehicle uploaded on its platform, as well as business intelligent and AI-based solutions. Its modular structure can be completely customized: new modules can be added, planned, and developed on the base of the customer requirements to offer innovative solutions tailored on user needs for a more sustainable quality of life.
