Henshin contributed to the definition of the first Battery Identification Number (BIN) Standard released by international alliance MOBI
MOBI and its members released the Battery Identification Number (BIN) Standard to accelerate the transition to a circular energy economy by enabling global battery passports and certification of the entire battery value chain, including second-life battery.

Batteries are an essential technology supporting the decarbonization process and the ecological transition. These play a key role in the transportation sector, with the rise of the electric vehicle, as well as in the energy sector, balancing the electricity production of renewable sources.
Standards are needed to boost the development of a global circular energy economy. Regarding the energy sector, standards are the foundation of reliable, multiparty traceability systems. These systems are indeed essential to effectively manage assets in the value chain, improve interoperability among stakeholders, and enable consumers to make informed purchasing decisions with confidence.
On July 19th, MOBI: Mobility Open Blockchain Initiative released the Rechargeable Battery Identification Number (BIN) Standard, the first standard on battery packs based on blockchain technology and modeled after the internationally accepted VIN (Vehicle Identity Number) for vehicles. This standard will facilitate battery data retrieval, accurate and efficient battery recalls, global battery passports, recycling certification, battery swapping, peer-to-peer battery energy sharing, and life cycle traceability.
The MOBI Battery Identification Number (BIN) Standard was made possible by the contributions of Accenture, ASJade Technology, Aucnet Inc., Amazon Web Services (AWS), ARXUM GmbH, Blockedge.io, CarIQ, CEVT, DENSO, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Henshin Group Ltd, Hitachi America Ltd. Honda, IoTeX - Building MachineFi For Web3, ITOCHU International Inc., NuCypher, peaq, and Reply.
